Talud House

Single family residence designed and built in Urubo, Santa Cruz -Bolivia.
This is one of the first green Houses part of a series of projects designed and built in Bolivia by Gantier.
It’s been published in architecture magazines and books including IBEROAMERICA BIENALE, Spain, Portugal South America and the Caribbean.
Thanks to the tropical climate conditions we try to achieve a house that is integrated with the green of the site, recovering part of the area of intervention, so the house is connected to the land introducing the vegetation to the formal volume of the project.
Nature and orientation allow the artificial slope to become natural by recycling enough water for irrigation, the grass is healthy at all times of the year. The house roof recycles the rainwater used to water the grass.
Concrete walls mark the main access. The materials used are in their most natural and simple state. The deck is handcrafted, with Tropical TAJIBO wood, using recycled parts of the barracks in the region. The main staircase and the helical staircase as well as the walls of concrete are also handcrafted (Cast in place).
We believe in the simplicity of forms and materials to generate and achieve spaces less artificial and more natural, without losing quality and comfort.
Every project in our office faces a complete solar, wind and climate conditions analysis, so we are able to design the best orientation for natural illumination and ventilation, the building become energy efficient by reducing energy consumption just applying Solar Passive Architecture.
